The Comprehensive Plan

An Areawide Comprehensive Plan for Blair County (Altoona MSA)

The Areawide Comprehensive Plan for Blair County (Altoona MSA) is organized around three simple questions: where is Blair County now (or where is Blair County heading), what does Blair County want to be in the future, and how should Blair County get there. The plan is the culmination of a three-year project that closely examined the current and projected future states of the county, its municipalities, and its citizens. It included countless opportunities for public involvement in the visioning and design processes: including a 7,000 person random survey, seven focus group meetings, and fourteen regional public meetings held throughout the county in 2003 and 2005.
